Dave and Brian's New House: August 2007

Hi, its been a while since we did a complete update--a lot of exciting things have happened in the last few weeks. Currently the millwork is being painted, so there is not good access to the house right now, but hopefully we will be able to take more pictures in the next few days.

On the outside of the house there have been some landscaping changes including rocks covering some of the drains, bark and plants going in. Its exciting to see the yard taking shape and take a more finished look. We have 2 trees that were planed in the front yard that we hope will provide a decent amount of shade for us as they grow. The majority of the other plants frame out the perimeter of the front porch to hopefully make it feel a little more private.

The fence posts have also been starting to appear on the outside back perimeter of the property. The fencing and sod should start going in over the next few days as well. We have a really narrow strip on one side of the property where the sidewalk is placed, and were pleased to see more space than we antipicated on the other side of the property where the fenceline was put it (see picture).

Inside, you can see that the doors and molding have gone in. A red putty-compound was put in to fill nail holes and sanded to create a smooth finish. If you look at the detail of the picture, you can see a number of red dots that appear all over the millworks. Following that was series of plastic and taping that took a few days in preparation for the paint to be sprayed on the millwork which is currently in work.
